Triumphant Ministers
2nd Corinthians 2
Enmity between Paul and the Corinthians was stealing the godly joy from their relationship.
Because Paul loved the Corinthians, he had instructed the church to discipline an immoral man in their congregation.
1st Corinthians 5:1-5
Sin caused grief in the church.
The Corinthians obeyed Paul.
The purpose of church discipline is repentance, forgiveness, reconciliation, and restoration to fellowship.
The devil’s goal was to overwhelm the sinner from 1st Corinthians 5 with grief and shame that would cause him to reject God.
Paul instructed the Corinthians to forgive and comfort the sinner.
Christians are living sacrifices that produce an aroma of life or death in the nostrils of people around them.
Leviticus 2:13, Romans 12:1, Matthew 5:13
The Apostle Paul identified himself as a captive in Christ’s triumphal procession.
Those who share the knowledge of Christ with others walk with Jesus in a triumphal procession.
