Heart of the Law

Matthew 5:17-20

God gave the Law and the prophets to protect His children and preserve their relationship with Him.

The Ten Commandments are still intact today.

According to Jesus, the greatest commandments start with, “Thou shalt” instead of “Thou shalt not.”

Jesus fulfilled the sacrificial law when He died on the cross.
1 Corinthians 5:7, Hebrews 10:4-10

Jesus is the one whom the law and the prophets spoke about.
John 5:36-40, Luke 24:25-27, 44-48

The Pharisees and the teachers of the law neglected the weightier matters of the law and added traditions and man-made rules to serve themselves. Matthew 23:1-4, 13, 23-24. Mark 7:5-13

A true follower of Jesus will fulfill the law and the prophets. Jeremiah 31:33, Hebrews 10:15-18
