Picture A Church: Sacred Wounds

Healing is never required where there is no wound.

God told Solomon that if the people ever fall away but pray and repent, then he would heal their land. (2 Chron 7:4)

Jeremiah refers to the need for God to heal Israel from their sin. (Jer 8: 11,14-15, 21-22)

Wounds can cause us to try to meet legitimate needs in illegitimate ways.

Paul never called anyone out by name even though he received 39 lashes 5 times, was beaten with rods 3 times, and was stoned once. 2 Cor 11:24

Joseph overcame slavery and prison to lead a nation while his wounds remained. (Gen 40:23, 42:24, 45:1-2)

Don't short circuit the process of allowing the Holy Spirit to give you peace while a mystery remains in your life.

Christian Community is God's answer to defeat. (Rom 12:5, Gal 6:9-10, Phil 2:4, Heb 13:1, 1 Pet 4:8-10)

Jesus took the scars from his wounds to heaven with him. (John 20:20, 24 Luke 24:39-40 Rev 5:6)

Our testimony on how we have victory comes from the blood of Jesus' wounds. (Rev 12:11)

We have a self-worth based on whose I am rather than who I am. (Rom 14:8)
