Being Ready

Matthew 25:1-13
This parable is about being in the kingdom of heaven with Jesus.

All ten virgins and their lamps looked the same at first. Matthew 13:30

Waiting is part of everyone’s life. Isaiah 40:30-31, Matthew 24:13

All ten virgins slept. Jonah 1:5-9, Matthew 26:40-41

All ten virgins where awakened when the bridegroom arrived. 1 Thessalonians 4:16

A lit lamp gave the five wise virgins access to the kingdom of heaven with King Jesus. Matthew 5:14-16

You must have your own oil!

The oil is the Holy Spirit, God’s word, grace, and faith. 1 Corinthians 12:3, Romans 10:17, 2 Peter 1:19-21, Ephesians 2:8

The parable is being spoken to Jesus’s disciples who would become the caretakers of His church.

The virgins were bridesmaids who were supposed to care for the bride.

This parable is an urgent message to be ready with sufficient oil in your lamp.
