Bread of Life

The Bread of Life
John 6:22-69

The crowd comes looking for Jesus in order to get another free lunch.

Jesus tells the crowd about, “Food that endures to eternal life.”

Jesus explains that the work of God is to believe in Him.

The crowd tries to teach Jesus about the manna their ancestors ate in the wilderness. Exodus 16:4, Psalms 78:24-25

Jesus corrects the Jew’s thinking concerning the source of the manna.

Jesus puts Himself in the place of the manna.

Spiritual truth cannot be understood in the flesh.

When the disciples struggle to understand that Jesus is the bread that came down from heaven, He tells them that they will see Him return to heaven one day!

When we celebrate the Lord’s Supper, we partake of Jesus’ flesh and blood in a spiritual sense.
